National Board Certified educator with her Masters in Educational Leadership from UIC, Quinnetta is a coach, consultant, & Dog Mom. She is a former Chicago Public Schools middle school ELA teacher, with over a decade of coaching and consulting experiences. Her mission is to provide meaningful educational experiences for young and adult learners alike through high quality equication and promoting education equality. 

New Jersey born professional with the drive of a Chicagoan, dedicated to solving problems both large and small.  He has a background in assisting the education of learners in Laos, Vietnam, this is where his passion for Organizational Development and social justice began. John has a Masters in Human Resources and Organizational Development from University of Louisville. He seeks to resolve business issues and with a love of individuals, he aims to help them find success--even if that success is combating systems of oppression against people of color. John knows how important having a voice at the table can be and is using this to enact lasting change,  starting with the future students of Oasis Academy. After working in the non-profit space and recognizing a desire to create sustainable change, he is excited to be a part of OA and help add his expertise. With a specialty in administration and people management, John offers 10 years of sales, operations, and human resource experience that have impacted his mission as an ally and champion for social justice and equity. Having worked in both large organizations and small businesses, John currently works as a Client Development Associate for Opinions4Good (Op4G)--excited to encounter a new challenge.

Home-schooling & E-learning virtuoso, Jennifer is a Boy Mom and champion for Ed-Tech and specialized learning. She represents the best of ‘career changers’, a graduate of Purdue University with a degree in Hospitality. She decided to change fields because education was always a passion.  Because of this, she graduated from National Louis University with a Masters in Education. She taught intermediate grades for Chicago Public Schools for 5 years, before relocating to Texas with her husband and two young sons: Julian and Jace. Jennifer has years of experience teaching English to students in China virtually through VIPKID, providing an immersive English experience. Now, she propels learning and promotes explorative learning as she homeschools her sons, taking steps to champion equitable education.

Long-time educator who has taught in the Chicago Public Schools as well as abroad in both Thailand and Honduras. After educating students from kindergarten to high school for over 5 years, she pursued her Masters in Education from the Harvard Graduate School of Education with a focus on education policy and research. She now works as a Program Coordinator on the Global Education team at the Center for Global Development. 

A certified Diversity & Inclusion Leader from Northwestern University, Stormie is an experienced facilitator, unique problem solver, and creative thought partner. She is a former AmeriCorps Volunteer and Chicago non-profit professional with over a decade of training experience with the last five years deeply focused on Diversity & Inclusion and strategic management and consulting for businesses and nonprofit organizations of all sizes. Her mission is to use her professional skills and personal privilege to fight for our collective freedom though intentional and meaningful dialogue that leads to shared learning and new perspectives.

Chicago Public School Educator and has extensive experience working with youth starting from the age of 12. As a proud product of Chicago Public Schools, she has dedicated her career to making the experiences of those young people, following in her footsteps, more meaningful. Dana is a Spelman College graduate and has a Masters in Teaching from National Louis University and is pursuing her Masters in Education while currently serving as an elementary school teacher on Chicago’s south side and has taken a critical eye to the injustices that plagues some of the hallways that are incredibly similar to the ones that her students walk each day. As an OAF Board Member, Dana is honored to bring her expertise and lens to an already esteemed team of professionals to increase the inclusivity, love and joy in the lives of the students that The Oasis Academy will proudly serve!

U.S. Navy Veteran and Government specialist with over a  decade of strategic and tactical experience. Michael is a devoted father to his daughter Jewell and proud member of the Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. As an entrepreneur his projects serve the betterment of the community. He is the Founder of the Corpsman Up Foundation to address the moral implications of war as it pertains to religion and spirituality. To bridge the gap between faith-based practices and mental health services for Veterans. He thought protecting this country was hard, try 4th grade math homework--the lessons learned have taught him firsthand, the value of accessible education. 

Chicago native and a pride of Illinois and a graduate of Chicago Public Schools’ Lane Tech High School. With aspirations for the education of students of color, Rhea graduated Illinois State University with a Bachelor of Science. Since 2010, Rhea has played an essential role in supporting students and teachers. A busy mom of 6 sons, she also holds a Masters of Education from National Louis University and acts as an instructional coach and school leader. Rhea is currently the Middle School Department Lead and supervises the after-school program at McDade Elementary School. Between full time teaching, balancing karate, and her duties as a mom, she makes time to ensure the equity of students like her kids.
